OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - A magnitude 3.5 earthquake struck near Piedmont Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake struck at 12:50 a.m., roughly two miles east-southeast of Piedmont at a recorded depth of 2.98 miles.
KTVU viewers started calling into the station immediately.
People phoned from cities, including East Oakland, San Leandro, and Alameda.
One person said that her friends felt the ground shaking as faraway as San Francisco.
Reports to the "U.S.G.S. ShakeMap" were mainly focused in the East Bay.
There are no reports of any damage.
