Oakland Raiders players spent part of their Monday off playing “recess” games such as foursquare and dodgeball with students from Oakland’s International Community School.

Starting safety Keith McGill, veteran running back/kick returner and Oakland native Taiwan Jones, rookies wide receiver Johnny Holton, linebacker Cory James, offensive lineman Oni Omoile and running back Jalen Richard participated in the activities with around 200 students.

The Raiders Foundation teamed up with Playworks Norcal to have the Raiders players join Playworks youth coaches in leading the students through structured recess activities on the playground.

Playworks brings youth development to local schools through play by redefining recess and changing school culture – leveraging the power of safe, fun, and healthy play at school every day.

Playworks creates an environment for every student on the playground to feel included, be active, and to develop valuable social and emotional skills.
