SAN FRANCISCO - San Francisco floodwaters have receded after a brief flash flood warning went into effect on Tuesday.
The National Weather Service had previously issued a flood advisory before rain intensified at around 2:30 p.m. The advisory expired just ahead of 4 p.m.
NWS Bay Area says the heavy rain that trounced San Francisco has ended. "Flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat," weather officials said.

Flash flood warning in San Francisco
A flash flood warning was issued in San Francisco on Tuesday afternoon while other Bay Area counties were put on a flood watch due to intense rain.
This sudden development happened as another atmospheric river moved across the Bay Area.
The National Weather Service issued the warning for San Francisco and Brisbane on Tuesday afternoon after heavy rain came down in the city.
A flood watch remains in effect for the Bay Area until Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Videos of water flowing through the streets and bubbling from manhole covers were shared on social media.
As of Tuesday, the city has recorded between 0.2 to 1 inch of rainfall, with totals between 0.5 to 1 inch possible.
