San Jose police nab alleged commercial burglary trio
San Jose police have arrested a trio of city residents in connection with a string of late-night commercial burglaries between March and October. The three men allegedly broke into closed businesses to steal merchandise and money, often entering a business after breaking through a front door or window with blunt objects or a stolen car.
SAN JOSE, Calif. - San Jose police said they arrested three men for a series of commercial burglaries that happened between March and October.
Marcelino Bejarano, 25, Santiago Cabuag, 25, and Ricky Bejarano, 23, allegedly broke into multiple businesses during the overnight hours and stole merchandise, cash registers, and ATMs. They were on the run for months, evading police.
The suspects would break through the front doors or windows using blunt objects and crowbars, or crash through with a stolen vehicle, officials said.
Authorities said nearly 40% of their alleged crimes took place in the Willow Glen neighborhood, along the Lincoln Ave. corridor.

The three suspects were known to use a white Honda Odyssey minivan during the crimes, until word got out, and the vehicle was subsequently torched, officials said. They allegedly started using a new Odyssey minivan after they burned the first one.
The police department dubbed the trio, "Odyssey Burglary Group."
One of the places the group allegedly targeted was the Goosetown Lounge.
"They stole our ATM. And they stole some money out of a drawer. And then they broke into Puerto Azul (nearby restaurant) and stole their cash register," said Lynne Rovia, owner of the Goosetown Lounge.
Rovia said the suspects waited until 15 minutes after closing time, and then were in and out of her lounge within in three minutes.
"It affects all of us. Especially just coming out of COVID and all. We were struggling for a couple of years. And then starting to get on your feet, and have that happen. It does have an impact," she said.
On Nov. 9 the San Jose Police Department took two of the three suspects in custody. They were booked in the Santa Clara County jail on several counts of commercial burglary.

On Nov. 22, they arrested the third suspect and booked him into jail for the same charges.
