San Jose police investigate early morning homicide

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KTVU) - San Jose police are investigating the city’s latest homicide after a man was found shot inside his car.

Officials say around 2:30 a.m. police spotted what they say was a suspicious vehicle on Fontaine Road near Highway 101 and Tully Road. When officers stopped to get a closer look, they saw a man inside a tan Mazda SUV with visible injures. The man, who officials believe was in his 40s, was later pronounced dead at a near by hospital.

Investigators are not sure if the man was shot at the scene on Fontaine or somewhere else.

There is no clear motive for the killing at this point and the suspects remain on the loose as of Thursday morning.

The fatal shooting is the second homicide in the past two days in San Jose.
