SANTA ROSA, Calif. - In a gruesome update on the bodies found at a Santa Rosa home Wednesday, authorities have confirmed the victims were all shot to death.
The four victims were not named, but were said to be a 33-year-old woman, a 28-year-old man, a 67-year-old woman, and a 67-year-old man, according to Santa Rosa police.
A semi-automatic handgun was also found near one of the victims.
Officials did not share the relationship between the victims but did say they were all family members. All the victims were found in different areas of the Monarch Street house.
Police were first notified by the boyfriend of one of the victims on Wednesday afternoon about conducting a welfare check. The boyfriend told police he hadn't heard from one of the victims in a couple of days.
Police eventually forced their way into the home through a window.
Police are investigating the deaths as a "multi-victim homicide." They said there is no threat to the public. Additionally, a search warrant was conducted at a home in the 2800 block of Buena Crest Court in San Jose, as it was linked to one of the victims, police said.
What we don't know:
It's unclear if one of the victims is being considered as a suspect or the exact relationship between the victims. The day they died wasn't immediately known.
Police also didn't share a possible motive or the circumstances leading up to the deaths.
