Several North Bay roads closed due to flooding
SONOMA, Calif. - Several roads remained closed in Sonoma County on Friday afternoon because of flooding from overnight rain.
Lanes were closed in both directions of state Highway 12 from Watmaugh Road to Eighth Street, as of about 2:30 p.m. Friday, according to an alert from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission.
State Highway 121 was also closed between Eighth Street and state Highway 116, creating traffic delays in the area, according to Caltrans' live map of traffic conditions.
There were road closures elsewhere in the county, including in the unincorporated area of Windsor and the cities of Petaluma and Sebastopol, according to the Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management's map of live road conditions.
In Petaluma, Valley Ford Road, Valley Ford Freestone Road and Bloomfield Road remained closed as of 2:30 p.m.
In Sebastopol, Todd Road and Green Valley Road were also closed at that time, after first being shut down at about 8:10 a.m.
Mark West Station Road at Starr Road, in Windsor, was also closed because of water blocking the intersection.
Rainfall totals varied around the county, but just less than 1.2 inches fell in Santa Rosa in the past 24 hours, as of 2:30 p.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service.
The forecast calls for more rain on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday, before letting up on Monday.
