SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU) - According to new information from Female Founders Fund, of the 204 Bay Area startups that receive substantial funding, only 16 were run by women. Now the company SheEO is trying to change that.
Woman from the public can invest $1,000. SheEO gets 1,000 women investors to create a $1,000,000 pool. They select 10 female founders based in this area. "So it's the thousand women locally supporting 10. They get low interest loans which they pay back five years," said Vicki Saunders.
