1 dead, 1 injured in Oakland's Brookfield Village
One person was shot dead and another injured in Oakland's Brookfield Village.
OAKLAND, Calif. - A shooting in East Oakland on Tuesday morning left one man dead and another wounded, police said.
According to the Oakland Police Department, the shooting happened around 10 a.m. in the city's Brookfield Village neighborhood.

Officers were called to the 9600 block of Edes Avenue and Nevada Street where they located two men with gunshot wounds.
Authorities at the scene confirmed to KTVU that one of the victims died and another was injured in the shooting. Oakland City Councilmember Treva Reid came to the scene and was briefed by police.
No arrests have been made and a motive for the shooting was not discussed by police.
The victims were not identified yet.
The homicide is the 96th this year in Oakland compared with 102 last year by this date.
Due to a recent spate of deadly shootings, Oakland Police Chief LeRonne Armstrong said more officers would begin patrolling certain areas.
"In response to that increase in violence, I am reorganizing and re-deploying additional officers, particularly on evenings when we've seen violence spike the most," Armstrong said Tuesday afternoon.
