Sideshow erupts before Warriors game in Oakland, elsewhere crowd throws bottles at patrol cars
OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - Oakland police and the California Highway Patrol are searching for the people responsible for sideshows across the city on Sunday.
One sideshow occurred at 42nd Avenue and International Boulevard just before the start of the Warriors final regular season game at Oracle Arena. Traffic was blocked in the area for several hours as large crowds gathered to watch drivers spin their cars.
Later on Sunday night, more than 50 cars and 200 people shut down westbound Interstate 580, between 106th and Keller Avenue.
The CHP said the crowd threw bottles at patrol cars and fired gun shots. The crowd dispersed in about 25 minutes. There was no word of any injuries or arrests.
