OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - Fans of Bohemian Rhapsody are invited to belt out "Another One Bites the Dust," "We Are the Champions," and "Somebody to Love" after the hit film took home the Golden Globe for best picture and best actor.
Fox and New Regency announced the release of a sing-along version of the Queen biopic, which will play in 750 theaters across North America, including more than a dozen here in the Bay Area, starting on Friday.
“We are delighted to give audiences the opportunity to see this outstanding Golden Globe-winning film featuring Rami Malek’s amazing Golden Globe-winning performance in theaters all over the U.S. and Canada in both its original form and in a never-before-experienced ‘sing-along’ version,” Chris Aronson, Fox’s president of domestic distribution, said in a statement.
Bohemian Rhapsody, which has become the highest-grossing music biopic of all time, chronicles the story of Queen and its legendary frontman, Freddie Mercury, who died in 1991.
Shepherded to the screen by surviving band members Brian May and Roger Taylor, the film features several of the band’s original hits.
