SJ Sharks preparing for biggest home game to date in team's 25 year history
SAN JOSE, Calif. (KTVU) - Traffic advisories have been issued around SAP Center Saturday, ahead of Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Congestion is expected on roads leading to SAP Center.
The Sharks will host a free pregame rally outside the arena, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
It will include music, giveaways, kids face painting, fan booths, and an area where people can take a slap shot.
Sharks will show special on-ice projections and graphics beginning at 4:50 p.m.
Each fan will receive a t-shirt, rally towel, and an LED wristband that will be synchronized to create a light show during the pre-game festivities.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early, with doors at SAP Center opening at 3:30 p.m. for the 5 p.m. game.
The NHL wants to make sure fans enjoy the playoff experience.
Jia Wang, staff attorney for the league, appeared on KTVU's Mornings on 2 Saturday, to discuss the differences between legitimate NHL merchandise, and counterfeit products.
The Sharks team believes it has a good chance to come back, even though they trail in the series against the Pittsburgh Penguins, two games to 0.
Players say their objective is to defend home ice.
Although the Sharks struggled at home during the regular season, with a 18-20-3 record, they excelled in the postseason, winning 7 games and just dropping 2 at home.
