SAN FRANCISCO - San Francisco police identified the suspect accused of carjacking a city-owned vehicle and leading officers on a chase that ended in a deadly crash.
Carlo Watson, 57, is accused of several crimes that started when he stole a city truck about 10 a.m. Wednesday near Folsom and Mabini streets, investigators said.
San Francisco sheriff's deputies spotted the vehicle on Kansas and 25th streets, touching off a vehicle pursuit through city streets.
Bystander killed after San Francisco carjacking suspect crashes during police chase
A bystander was killed, and several others were hurt, after an alleged carjacking suspect slammed into a bus stop during a police chase in San Francisco on Tuesday morning.
San Francisco police officials said the stolen pick-up truck collided with an SUV at 16th Street and Potrero Avenue, before slamming into a nearby bus stop where people were waiting.
"It was a loud bang," witness Eric Rivere said. "One lady got pinned underneath the car, one guy was laying on the side of the truck with a big laceration on his head."

Bystander killed in San Francisco stolen vehicle pursuit
A bystander was killed and several more were injured in San Francisco Tuesday morning after a carjacking suspect crashed during a police pursuit.
Four innocent bystanders were struck, and one of them, a 58-year-old man died. The other victims, a man age 37, and two women ages 57 and 70, did not suffer serious injuries.
Watson was taken to San Francisco County Jail and booked on several charges including carjacking, murder, and vehicular manslaughter.
Rivere, who works at the corner auto parts store said he had returned from his break when moments later the crash occurred.
"If I was out here two minutes before that I would have gotten killed," he said. "I'm a little bit traumatized at the moment of what happened."
