Teen kidnapped in San Jose, Amber Alert activated

A teen has been kidnapped out of San Jose, police said, prompting officials to activate an Amber Alert. The victim was identified as 17-year-old Yasmin Carrera-Bravo.

The kidnapping occurred Friday night around 10:40 p.m. in the 1800 block of Lexington Drive near Payne Avenue, according to the San Jose Police Department and California Highway Patrol, who are asking for the public's assistance in locating Yasmin.

San Jose police said the adult male suspect, identified as 25-year-old Noah Pimentel, went to Yasmin's home and forced her into his car against her will.

Yasmin's father and an adult woman tried to remove Yasmin but were unsuccessful. Police said Pimentel reversed his car and struck the adult female before driving off with Yasmin inside. 

The alert describes Yasmin as 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 100 pounds. Her hair is pink and she has brown eyes. 

She was last seen wearing gray and white pajamas, the CHP said. 

The suspect, Pimentel, stands around 5 feet 9 inches and weighs around 155 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a white shirt. 

His car is a 2006 silver Honda Accord, with a California license plate of "9NNZ977." The car may also have a missing front bumper, according to police.
