Teen with Down Syndrome delighted by college acceptance letter
Video of a teen with Down Syndrome joyfully reading an acceptance letter to college is gaining a lot of attention online.
In the video, 19-year-old Mickey Deputy sits on her family's couch as she reads them the letter.
Mickey screams with delight as she reads the line that she was accepted to the college's program,
She had been waiting patiently for three weeks to find out if she had been accepted into the program.
The Franklin College program is called INSPIRE. Mickey's mom Jennifer tells KTVU, it's a two year program for special education students to learn job skills, while attending college classes as a guest student.
