San Jose police say they have located the guardian of a toddler found wandering outside alone around 3:30 Wednesday morning.

Police made the announcement on Twitter shortly after 10 a.m.

A law enforcement source told KTVU, the guardian is the child's grandparent who looks after many children.

Officers had responded around 3:30 a.m. to a report of a toddler  boy wandering with no adult supervision in the area of The Woods apartments, located at 4300 The Woods Drive, Officer Albert Morales said.

The boy was taken to a hospital to be medically cleared, Morales  said.
