Two 3.3-magnitude earthquakes strike near San Jose

An earthquake has been reported for the third time today east of San Jose, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The most recent quake was measured as a preliminary 3.3-magnitude earthquake and struck at about 6:20 p.m., about 6.2 miles northeast of San Jose.

A smaller 2.6-magnitude earthquake was reported at about 12:30 p.m. in the same area.

Before that, at 10:32 a.m., a 3.3-magnitude quake reported east of San Jose, near Berryessa Creek, USGS officials said.
