Two held in Berkeley carjacking

Here's KTVU crime reporter Henry Lee's Rap Sheet blog for October 11, 2016:

BERKELEY COPS NAB CARJACKING SUSPECTS: Two men were arrested for allegedly carjacking a woman in Berkeley and leading police on a chase, authorities said.

Terrence Holyfield, 23, and Charles Anderson, 18, both of Oakland were booked on suspicion of robbery, carjacking and felony evading arrest.

The incident happened as the woman was parking her car on the 2100 block of Prince Street late Thursday night.

She got out of her car and was approached by three men, one of whom was armed with a gun. They ordered her back into her car, but she dropped her purse, cell phone and car keys and ran.

The trio picked up her property and fled in her car, police said.

A Berkeley officer spotted the car near the UC Berkeley campus and began chasing it.

The pursuit ended at Prince Street and Halcyon Court, where the three jumped out of the car.

Holyfield, who is on parole, and Anderson were taken into custody. The third man was tracked to the Ashby BART Station but escaped. More of the victim's property was found nearby, however.

Officers found a fake gun in the car.

MAN HELD IN LEWD ACTS: A 57-year-old man who worked at Safeway has been arrested on suspicion of engaging in lewd acts with a 16-year-old colleague, authorities said.

Michael Anthony Lopez of South San Francisco was booked on suspicion of 35 counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor. He is being held at San Mateo County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bail.

The investigation began in September when the girl's mother notified law enforcement, saying she believed her daughter was "engaged in a sexual relationship" with Lopez, sheriff's officials said.

Investigators determined that Lopez befriended the girl while they both worked at the Safeway store in Burlingame. Lopez was then moved to the Safeway store in Millbrae after suffering an injury, authorities said.

Lopez met with the girl in the parking lot of the store and engaged in sexual activity in his vehicle, investigators said.
