WOODSIDE, Calif. (KTVU) - The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said the two homicides near Woodside are likely linked as both men were stabbed to death within 24 hours of each other in nearly the exact same location.
The latest homicide occurred Tuesday night, along Skyline Boulevard, and deputies have shut down the area between Swett Road and Reids Roost Road for their investigation.
In a news release early Wednesday, Lt. Stephanie Josephson said deputies were out in the area about 11 p.m. searching for evidence on Monday's homicide when they heard a person calling for help just before midnight. They found a man suffering from stab wounds, lying on the ground in a turnout off Skyline Boulevard. The man ultimately died of his injuries.
Just then, deputies saw a man fleeing the area in a car. A deputy fired at the car, which ended up going off the road into a ditch, Josephson said. The suspect was not hit by gunfire, according to the sheriff, and was taken into custody for questioning. The suspect received a laceration to his arm.
He's been identified as Malik Dosouqi, 26, of Pacifica.
This death follows a homicide on Monday at 11:09 p.m. alongside Skyline Boulevard, near Reids Roost Road. The coroner's office identified the victim as 32-year-old taxi driver, Abdulmalek Nasher of Pacifica. He was also stabbed to death, the sheriff said.
The victim in Monday's deadly homicide is John Sione Pekipaki.
A motive has not yet been released and the sheriff vowed to release more information when possible.
