SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU) - A shelter-in-place order has been lifted in San Francisco's Union Square Thursday night.
People were asked to avoid the area of Market Street and O'Farrell altogether due to a suspicious package. The order was lifted around 10:30 p.m.
At 7:58 p.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious package in the 700 block of Market Street, according to police.
Officers have cleared the area and are investigating. The police department's bomb squad is also responding, police said.
