Vacaville vegetation fire triggers evacuation order
A fire broke out in the hills near Pleasant Valley and Cherry Glen Roads.
VACAVILLE, Calif. - A vegetation fire broke out on a hillside in Vacaville Monday afternoon, triggering a mandatory evacuation order.
The fire broke out around 2:48 p.m. at Pleasants Valley and Cherry Glenn roads, according to the Vacaville Fire District. The blaze, called the Cherry Fire, grew to 15 acres before firefighters brought it under control around 4 p.m.
An evacuation order was issued around 3:45 p.m. for Zone Sol-2952, North of Cherry Glen Road, South of Foothill Drive, East of Pleasants Valley Road. It's unclear when residents will be allowed back.
