Vallejo sees its 25th homicide of 2024 on New Year's Eve

A man was fatally shot New Year's Eve in Vallejo, according to police. 

Just before 6 p.m., police were informed that a man had arrived to the hospital suffering from at least one gunshot wound. 

An investigation revealed that he had been shot in the 100 block of Kemper Street at around 5:45 p.m. 

The man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin by the Solano County Sheriff's Coroner's Office.

The motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation at this time, according to police.
