VIDEO: 200-acre fire at Camp Parks in Dublin fully contained, no injuries

DUBLIN, Calif. - A vegetation fire that broke out this afternoon at a U.S. Army base in Dublin and burned 200 acres has been fully contained, Alameda County fire officials said tonight.

The fire at Camp Parks on 12th Street was initially announced in a statement online at 2:01 p.m.

After responding all afternoon and evening, firefighters were eventually able to fully contain the blaze, fire officials said at about 8:55 p.m.

No injuries were reported, according to fire officials.

Earlier, Sheriff's deputies had evacuated residents in the Wallis

Ranch area, fire officials said. The evacuation advisory has since been lifted.

Camp Parks, also known as the Parks Reserve Forces Training Area, is home to the Army's 91st Division, and has training facilities for reservists. More than 250 units representing 20,000 military personnel in the Bay Area make use of the installation.

It was constructed during World War II and commissioned in 1943, according to the U.S. Army Reserve.

A cause for the fire remains under investigation, fire officials said.
