OAKLAND, Calif. - A "severe" traffic accident involving a motorcyclist was reported Monday morning on the Bay Bridge, causing injuries and a traffic mess.
The California Highway Patrol reported the accident on westbound I-80 west of Bay Bridge - Toll Plaza in Oakland just after 6 a.m. Three lanes were blocked for about 30 minutes. But even thought the crash cleared about 6:30 a.m., a huge backup persisted.
KTVU traffic reporter Sal Castaneda advised that motorists consider alternate routes.
