GOOSE CREEK, S.C. - A freight train collided with a semi in dramatic fashion after the driver got stuck on the tracks while trying to go around a railroad crossing gate in South Carolina.
According to the Goose Creek Police Department, the truck had what they referred to as a "low boy" trailer and was carrying a U.S. military M109 howitzer when it got stuck at the crossing at around 12:30 pm.
The driver had tried to maneuver around the railroad crossing barriers that were lowered to stop traffic while the train passed. The crash caused damage to the railroad crossing gate and appeared to destroy the military tank.
