LYON COUNTY, Nev. - A magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck western Nevada on Monday, just days after a major quake hit Northern California.
The 5.5 earthquake struck near the town of Yerington, about 74 miles east of South Lake Tahoe.
The earthquake struck just after 3 p.m., the USGS reported.
The area has seen several aftershocks ranging from 2.5 to 3.2 in the time since the quake.
On Facebook, KTVU viewers reported feeling the earthquake in parts of the Bay Area, including Walnut Creek, Antioch, San Ramon, Oakland and Vacaville.
