Will fog block out the San Francisco fireworks on New Year's Eve?
SAN FRANCISCO - The fireworks show on New Year's Eve in San Francisco is a fun, free highlight that Bay Area residents near and far look forward to ooh-ing and ahh-ing over.
But the City is often socked in by fog.
Good news for ringing in 2025, though.
KTVU meteorologist Roberta Gonzales said while it will be chilly out on Tuesday night, there will be no fog for the fireworks display along the Embarcadero.
The show begins at midnight and lasts about 15 minutes.
Meteorologist Mark Tamayo said it will be chilly out, so dress in layers.
Midnight temps should hover in the mid-to-high 40s.
As for other parts of the Bay Area, there is a slight chance of sprinkles in the North Bay on the night of New Year's Eve.
The new year starts with partly cloudy skies, with the bulk concentrated in the North Bay.
The next rain event could arrive on Friday.
