Woman killed in San Jose hit-and-run, 3rd fatal one this year

Police on Wednesday were investigating a deadly hit and run that killed a woman near downtown San Jose – the third time this year in the city that a pedestrian was killed in this manner.

The hit and run occurred about 12:30 a.m. at N. 10th and E. Santa Clara streets.

According to San Jose police, the woman was walking in the crosswalk, heading east on Santa Clara, when a white van coming in the southbound direction north of 10th struck her.

The driver of that van took off.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police are looking for the driver of that white van. Police released photos and video of the van.
