ANTIOCH, Calif. - Antioch police are investigating a double shooting early Monday at a 7-Eleven store, which left a woman dead and a man seriously injured.
Police responded to the store on 2301 Buchanan Road at Gentrytown Drive at around 12:30 a.m., when the shoooting happened.
Police said the 24-year-old woman, found in a parked car, was shot in the head. A 27-year-old man, found inside the store, was shot twice and was rushed to John Muir Medical. The victims have not been identified by police. The man's condition has stabilized.
Lt. Paul Meads said it appeared they were targeted by a male suspect on foot. Police said there were others in the store at the time of the shooting and that the suspect fled on foot after firing shots into the parked car.
Police are still looking to identify a suspect or persons of interest and a motive.
