Woman shot in leg while driving along I-680 in Contra Costa County

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - A woman was shot in her leg as she was driving along Interstate 680 in Contra Costa County, the California Highway Patrol confirmed Wednesday evening.

The victim's injuries are non-life-threatening, CHP said in a Facebook post.

The shooting happened on southbound Interstate 680, near westbound Highway 24.

Officer said the suspect fled the area.
