Worker dies in accident while breaking down BottleRock stage in Napa

On Wednesday morning safety workers are expected to be in Napa where a worker was killed while removing structures from the area where Bottlerock Festival was held.

A worker breaking down structures at the Napa Expo died Tuesday according to the Napa Fire Department.

Around 5 p.m., a beam at the VIP lounge adjacent to the main stage fell on a 35-year-old man in the workplace accident, authorities said.

Fifteen people from the Richmond-based Top Production crew, who were at the scene, were able to lift the beam off the worker. They performed CPR on the man before Napa Fire arrived at the scene.

At 6:52 p.m. the Napa Fire Department had tweeted that the worker had suffered life-threatening injuries, but he did not survive the accident.

The man's name has not yet been released. 

Latitude 38 Entertainment released the following statement, "At this time an investigation is still ongoing. We are devastated by this news and our hearts go out to the family and friends of the deceased."
