John Krinjak

John Krinjak joined the KTVU FOX 2 News team as a reporter in May of 2025. He has strong family ties to the region — frequently visiting for the past decade — and is now thrilled to call the Bay Area home. 

Prior to joining KTVU, John served as an anchor and reporter at KTVU's sister station FOX 7 Austin. He was the station's "7 on Your Side" investigative reporter, hosted the "Texas News Show" on FOX Local, and produced a weekly interview segment called "FOX 7 Focus."

During his time in Austin, John covered the deadly 2021 ice storm and power grid failure, the Uvalde school shooting, and the 2022 race for Texas governor between Greg Abbott and Beto O'Rourke. 

John previously worked as an anchor and reporter in Providence, Rhode Island and Bangor, Maine. He grew up in Connecticut, and attended college at New York University, graduating with a degree in Journalism. While living in NYC, John worked behind the scenes at NBC'S TODAY and ABC's Nightline. 

In his free time, John enjoys spending time with his niece and nephew here in California, as well as his dog, Tico. John is a die-hard Bon Jovi fan, and has seen the band live more than 45 times!

BART plans massive cutbacks in 2027 if voters reject sales tax

Bay Area residents got a look Thursday at the massive cuts that could be coming to BART next year, if voters don't approve a tax increase to bail out the transit agency. The proposal includes the closure of between 10 and 15 lower-ridership train stations, as well as major service cutbacks.

Man shot, killed by Border Patrol in Minneapolis

A 37-year-old man was shot and killed by Border Patrol officers Saturday morning, marking the third shooting by federal agents in that city this month. The shooting prompted a new wave of protests in Minneapolis Saturday evening, with Minnesota activating its national guard. 

San Jose school district approves dozens of job cuts amid outrage

Teachers and parents slammed cuts to education in San Jose Thursday night, saying students will suffer. The East Side Union High School District board approved a proposal to slash dozens of positions in schools—from teachers to social workers. But some are holding out hope that at least some of those jobs could still be saved.
