
Bailey O'Carroll
Bailey O’Carroll has been at KTVU since 2022. During that time, she’s covered some of the biggest stories in the Bay Area, even flying with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, and has conducted one-on-one sitdown interviews with some of the biggest names in Bay Area sports.
During her time at KTVU, she’s also highlighted important local stories, such as the impact of abuse within the San Jose State University gymnastics program. Bailey is proud to have been nominated for two Emmy Awards for sports journalism.
Originally from San Marcos, Calif., Bailey studied sports journalism at Arizona State University before starting her career at KOLD News 13 in Tucson.
At KOLD, Bailey covered a range of stories including the Phoenix Suns' road to the NBA Finals, The University of Arizona’s women’s basketball teams national championship run, an NCAA men's basketball tournament, and the college baseball world series in Omaha, Nebraska.
While she wasn’t a star athlete by any stretch, Bailey has loved sports for as long as she can remember, telling her parents at the age of two her favorite movie was "The Green Bay Packers".
After attending her first college basketball game in middle school, Bailey decided her goal was to become the first female head coach in the NBA, and spent most weekends in her room, dissecting old game films USC would send her.
Ultimately, she decided she didn’t like telling people what to do and fell in love with journalism.
She was named KTVU’s first female sports reporter in February 2025, after spending one year on KTVU's digital team and two years as a general assignment news reporter.
In her free time, Bailey loves to travel and has visited 32 countries. She's also tried a McDonalds McFlurry on five different continents. She enjoys hanging out with friends and family and stays active by running along the Embarcadero, and taking pilates classes almost daily. A resident of San Francisco, she loves to explore the city, try new restaurants, take in Giants’ games from the bleacher seats, and dog watch at Crissy Field.
