The Giants are running out of time

The Giants were a fantastic 57-33 at the all-star break, but have been atrocious since.

Giants fans have held onto the even year magic hope throughout the season, but the path they are on does not coincide with the 2010, 2012, or 2014 season. In each of those years, their winning percentage during the second half was .530 or better. They are barely over a .350 winning percentage in the second half this year.

The bats are far too cold lately. The bullpen has been an absolute mess, highlighted by Santiago Casilla's July balk-off against San Diego. Casilla just happens to lead the MLB with 7 blown saves so far this season. They've also not won a single game when entering the 9th down.

It seems like the Giants are finding the most painful way to lose and then executing it. When you look at this team, the talent is there offensively and in the starting pitching. The question is whether or not Bruce Bochy can work his magic on the bullpen.

If the Giants want a chance at continuing the even year magic, they're running out of time to get their problems fixed. If they don't find a way to put a win streak together before they go back to Los Angeles on the 19th, they'll be watching the playoffs like the rest of us.
