San Francisco police announce full deployment for many weekend events

A million people are expected in the city this weekend. In addition to SF Pride, several other events are happening that are likely to keep first responders busy. In front of the Harvey Milk Plaza at Market Street and Castro, city leaders, including the chief of police, came out to discuss safety for this weekend’s events.

As dozens of rainbow flags blew in the wind up and down the street, enthusiasm for Pride Month was evident all along Castro Street and throughout the neighborhood. Businesses, visitors, and residents are all getting ready for one of the biggest events of the year in the city. 

SF Pride parade and police settle dispute over uniforms

The political divisions and disagreements over San Francisco Police Department officers marching in uniform at this year's Pride parade seems to have made progress Thursday in the form of a resolution.
