Play evolves from college admission essay

"Looking Out the Window" is a one-person play that will be performed at the Martinez Campbell Theatre next month. September is Alzheimer's awareness month, and "Looking Out the Window" addresses the impact of the debilitating disease on a particular family, and it was all inspired from a college admission essay of a 17-year-old high school student, Reno Zembrak. Reno and his father, Derek, who is the actor in the play, appeared on KTVU's "Mornings on 2."

Bay Area electrician ordered to pay $481 million for scam

A Bay Area electrician was ordered Tuesday to pay $481.3 million in restitution as part of his sentence for participating in a $1 billion Ponzi schemed that suckered Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc., among many others.
