After three consecutive horrendous fire years, there is an important shift going on this year in firefighting efforts. KTVU’s Tom Vacar reports Cal Fire, Contra Costa Fire, Orinda-Moraga Fire, East Bay Parks, East Bay MUD, Lawrence Berkeley Lab and many others mean to keep their hills firestorm free.

There's still a week left in January, but so far, water officials are telling us there is no need to consider any of the water use restrictions that we saw during the drought years. Jana Katsuyama reports from Orinda.
