Mountain View Police recovered a Uhaul last Friday filled with stolen police equipment. They were quick to point out that no firearms were found.Still, there were duffle bags full of other items officers use regularly. Two people are already under arrest, and a third is on the run.

Mountain View mail theft ring busted

Police in Mountain View bust a mail theft ring arresting seven people. Investigators said the suspects used counterfeit master keys to steal mail and packages from apartment complexes. The seven people are all from the South Bay and are facing federal mail theft charges. Police said dozens of people were victimized. KTVU's Azenith Smith reports.

Police: Masked woman attempts to kidnap toddler in Mountain View

It's a frightening ordeal for a South Bay family after police said a masked woman tried to snatch a toddler and then attacked a grandma near Fairmont Park in Mountain View. The kidnapping attempt happened Wednesday afternoon and on Thursday, police arrested 31-year-old Schauntel Gomez, who they said, is a transient from the Monterey County area.

Parking lot solution for Mountain View's RV dwellers

The acute cost of Bay Area housing has led some people to live in RVs parked on the street. The lifestyle is more pronounced in Mountain View. City officials say upwards of 300 RVs are parked all over the city. Jesse Gary reports.
