Benicia bakers make life-sized Han Solo out of bread

A bakery in Benicia is getting national attention after creating a life-sized Han Solo out of bread. Hanalee Pervan and her mother, Catherine Pervan, spent weeks molding, baking and assembling the life-sized sculpture using wood and two types of dough.

Whipt Cookies among pop-ups at Presidio Tunnel Tops

Presidio Tunnel Tops is San Francisco's newest park. It opened in July to much fanfare. Among the attractions have become food pop-up stands, which that celebrate the diverse cultures and cuisines with in the Bay Area. Foods includes Colombian, Indian, Ukrainian, cuisine from the Yucatan, and Singapore. For dessert, how about Benicia-based Whipt Coookies. Founder and owner, Krizy Osada appeared on KTVU's "Mornings on 2" to discuss the park project, her business, and her signature "cookie cake."

Benicia Port fire extinguished; damage could affect gas production

The Benicia Port Fire has been formally extinguished and now, one of the big questions is what will happen with companies that use that dock? Some worry that gas production could be impacted as the burned dock sits next to the Valero refinery.

A four-alarm fire ripped through the port of Benicia on Saturday near the Amports docks, prompting fire crews to race into action and up to 100 spectators to come out and watch the dark plumes of smoke lick the sky.

Benicia sideshow leads to 1 arrest

Police say 300 people attended a sideshow in Benicia and one person was arrested for alleged reckless driving and possession of a controlled substance. Some businesses were vandalized and burglarized by people who'd attened the sideshow, police say.
