Cooling trend

A cooling trend will lead us to the weekend. Low clouds will blanket the coast and bay Thursday morning. The clouds should clear back to near the coast during the afternoon. Highs should range from the upper 50s to the upper 70s. A cool system moves in this weekend. There is the slight chance of showers Saturday morning. Winds will be picking up. Gusts could exceed 40 mph.

OUSD teachers avert one-day strike

After days of threatening to possibly stop working, the Oakland Education Association on Wednesday announced the union has reached an agreement with the Oakland Unified School District to avoid a one-day strike. 

3 workers killed at San Leandro company; Cal-OSHA has no power to shut down

Three workers in the last eight years have been killed at a family-owned metal scrap recycling business, and the San Leandro company has been fined for more than 60 safety violations as far back as the 1990s – possibly the worst safety record of any similar company in the last 10 years in California, a review of state records shows.

REAL ID enforcement begins May 7: what you need to know

Enforcement of the REAL ID requirements is set to begin on May 7, when the federal government says it will begin enforcing checks for the REAL ID card that can only be obtained by verifying U.S. citizenship and residency in order to board planes or enter some federal buildings.

Our weather pattern resembles June or July! Low clouds and fog will resurface near the coast and bay Wednesday morning. The clouds will clear back to near the shoreline later in the day. Highs should range from the low 60s near coast to the low 80 inland. We are expecting cooler temperatures as we head toward the weekend. Shower chances will be going up Saturday morning.
