Weather alerts issued for Bay Area

There will be heavy rain, gusty winds, high surf and the chance of flooding in parts of the Bay Area this weekend as two storms push through the region.

Storms on track to hit Bay Area

The heaviest rain on Saturday will fall in the evening before tapering off overnight. But a larger storm will be overhead by Sunday afternoon and keep the Bay Area wet until Wednesday.

Rain on Saturday

Light rain was falling on Saturday morning followed by moderate to heavy rain in the evening. There will be a dry period later at night before more rain begins falling on Sunday.

Winter storm warning in the Sierra and rounds of rain into next week

A winter storm warning is in effect for the Sierra through Thursday night. Rain is in the picture with the Bay Area seeing another significant round Friday night. KTVU Meteorologist Bill Martin says Monday and Tuesday could be sketchy driving due to rain if you are traveling out of town.
