Cache Fire burns quickly in Lake County

The Cache Fire burned some homes and led authorities to impose mandatory evacuations in the area of Clearlake and Lower Lake in Lake County. State Sen. Mike McGuire, who represents the area, spoke to KTVU about conditions.

More evacuation orders issued as the Caldor Fire exploded in size overnight in El Dorado County, meanwhile, Governor Newsom declared a state of emergency in 11 California counties where wildfires are burning.

Caldor Fire leads Newsom to declare state of emergency

The quickly growing Caldor Fire prompted Gov. Gavin Newsom to declare a state of emergency in El Dorado County. Two civilians suffered "serious" injuries in the fire, Cal Fire announced. Meanwhile, smoke from the blaze drastically cut down visibility in the Lake Tahoe area.

Another air quality advisory issued due to smoke from wildfires

The Bay Area Air Quality Management District has issued an air quality advisory for Wednesday, due to the smoke from the ongoing wildfires in Northern California and the Pacific Northwest and a shift in the onshore wind pattern.
