Remembering Gwen Araujo: Transgender teen killed 20 years ago

The mother of a transgender teen spoke at an event in San Francisco on Tuesday to commemorate the 20-year-anniversary of her daughter's killing by four young men in Newark. The mother acknowledged how Gwen's death brought much-needed attention to the violence transgender girls and women suffer.
