Chinese immigrants remembered as backbone of building transcontinental railroad

Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month kicks off today. May is picked as the month we honor AAPI heritage in part due to that being the month that Chinese immigrants help complete the building of the transcontinental railroad. Roland Hsu, the director of research of the Chinese Railroad Workers in North America at Stanford, talks about the historical impact the Chinese immigrants had in building the railroad.
