San Mateo turns old fire station into sleeping barracks for officers with long commutes

The high cost of Bay Area housing has forced many workers into longer commutes in order to afford a home. And that problem extends to first responders. In San Mateo, a stop-gap measure is being used to allow weary officers to get a good night's sleep not far from the job.
