Preventing opioid addiction and overdoses

According to the CDC, nearly 110,000 people died from overdoses last year in the United States, with synthetic opioids contributing to about 75,000 of those deaths. Overdoses are also the leading cause of death for adults 18-45. Now, local Kaiser hospitals are providing Narcan free of charge to anyone who would like to have the life-saving medication on hand. KTVU's Sal Castaneda speaks with Dr. John Morehouse, Physician in Chief at Kaiser Permanente Richmond Medical Center about how and when you should administer Narcan.
