California ends ban on travel to states with anti-LGBTQ laws
Governor Newsom signed new legislation that repeals a 2016 law prohibiting publicly-funded travel to states with laws that discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. KTVU's Alex Savidge and Heather Holmes speak with Nguyen Pham, President of SF Pride about the new law, known as the "bridge project", which replaces the travel ban with an outreach campaign aimed at improving LGBTQ acceptance across the country.
