House speaker race: Here’s what to know

Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-Bakersfield) was removed from the House Speaker position earlier this week. Many Republican names have been floated to fill the role, such as Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio). Jordan recently secured the backing of former President Donald Trump.
