Sacred piece of Ohlone land returning to indigenous trust

A landmark agreement has been reached between the City of Berkeley and Ohlone Tribal leaders over a historic, local piece of land. Berkeley city leaders announced a plan to return the Ohlone Shellmound Village Site in West Berkeley to an indigenous trust after the city council unanimously approved a settlement to purchase the 2 acre site from the developer Reugg & Ellsworth.
