Survey reveals decline in job satisfaction
American workers are reporting unprecedented levels of job satisfaction, though the picture is mixed. According to the Conference Board’s annual Job Satisfaction survey, overall satisfaction rose slightly in 2023, reaching a record 62.7%, which is the highest since the survey began in 1987. However, this record high is tempered by declines across all 26 subcomponents of job satisfaction, as reported by nearly 1,700 U.S. employees. We spoke with career coach, Laura Francis, for more insight on the key aspects of working that are becoming more burdensome.
